What to expect at your first class
Many people are nervous at their first class and knowing what to expect can help put you at ease!
Please dress in shorts and a t-shirt which allow movement and are not constricting. (If you are participating in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, a community gi (uniform) is available for use during your first class.)
Each program has it's own unique class format designed to help you learn and get the most of out the class. Below is a general idea of the class flow.
Classes begin with a fast-paced and fun warm-up. After warming up, the instructors will begin to teach the daily techniques in an open setting. Then you will be paired with another student (or group of students) where you'll practice the daily techniques while the instructors help you when needed.
We do not require sparring or competition in the class, but most people look forward to trying their new techniques. We end each class with a review and closing comments of the instructors.
